Slight quibble on Q14, the term "meeple" for years was just slang (originating from an American called Alison Hansel), the rules called the pieces "followers". When Z-Man took over publishing of the game in 2012 they did rewrite the rules slightly to use the term "meeple" but by that point many other games had also started using meeples.

I agree with Mike C - meeple is a generic term that doesn’t apply only to the game named.
